Blue Chalk Sticks, Blue Stick Succulent - Senecio Mandraliscae Live Plant Ships in 2.5 x 3.5 inch pot with soil. Beautiful ground cover Drought tolerant Easy care Ships in 2.5 inch pot Listing is for One Blue Chalk Sticks Plant in 2.5 x 3.5 inch Pot, Blue Stick Succulent aka Senecio Mandraliscae Live plant Blue chalk stick (Senecio vitalis "Serpents"), also known as blue chalk fingers, is an attractive, easy-care succulent with fleshy, chalky blue-green, finger-shaped leaves. At maturity, blue chalk stick reaches heights of 12 to 18 inches, with a spread of 2 to 3 feet. Blue chalk stick is suitable for growing outdoors in U.S. Department of Agriculture plant hardiness zones 10 through 11. The plant works well in borders, as a mass planting and in rock gardens. In cooler climates, blue chalk stick is grown indoors. Water blue chalk stick approximately once per week during warm summer weather, or whenever the soil feels dry to the touch. Water the soil to a depth of 6 inches. Always allow the soil to dry between each watering, as succulents develop rot and other potentially deadly moisture-related diseases in waterlogged soil. Water sparingly during the winter, providing only enough moisture to prevent the leaves from wilting. Fertilize blue chalk stick sparingly, as too much fertilizer weakens the plant and makes it more susceptible to disease and pests. Fertilize once every two to four weeks during spring and summer, using a fertilizer formulated for cacti and succulent. Alternatively, use a fertilizer formulated for tomatoes. Apply the fertilizer at a rate of only one-quarter to one-half that recommended on the container. Prune blue chalk plant severely every spring to make room for healthy new growth. Cut the plant down to a height of 3 to 4 inches.
